SBCHS73 Reunions, 2000: Boyz to Men
Just in case you don't recognize 'em: above: Louie Dionisio, Ed Galang, Doopie Depante,Edmund Arce. Below: Ricky Chan, Doopie again! Taken during Joel de Lara's visit to the PI.
L-R: Tony Boy Lazo, Doc Froni, Ned Manalili, Doc Bob Barzaga, Dodie Diomoporo (Eric Clarin's, Bob & Ned's friend from UP days. Taken August 2000 during Ned's visit to the PI. After a few drinks in San Mig, we had dinner and more drinks in a restaurant recommended by Boy, Gilligan’s Island sa Festival Mall sa Alabang. The food was ok and the music which was the sound of the 70’s was what made us like the place. Oying could not make it as well kasi he was tied up with some visitors in his house. We all called it a day around 12 midnight already kasi there was still work the following day
Reunion in Manila: Ned Manalili

This August was also the 25th anniversary (alumni homecoming of Maryknoll batch 75)of my wife’s classmates and so the whole family went back home during this month. Two weeks was really too short a vacation but thanks to Doc Froni I was able to play golf and meet some of our classmates. We played golf in Alabang Country Club on a Wednesday and si Boy Lazo ang host namin dito. Maulap nga ang panahon pero hindi naman umuulan kaya perfect golf weather iyong araw ng laro namin. It was fun playing golf with Boy and Doc Froni kasi wala namang pustahan at masarap pa ang kuwentuhan.  After the golf game, Boy invited us to his big/beautiful home in Ayala Alabang and akala ko nga happy hour lang kami pero naghain ang “better half” niya ng dinner (sabi ko nga kay Doc Froni na pakisabi na lang kay Boy na sana makakain uli ako ng dinuguan at piniritong lechon sa susunod na punta ko doon). I could not stay longer kasi i had to meet some people later in the evening so naputol ang kuwentuhan but we agreed that there will be another reunion and this time Doc Froni was going to call Oying, Bob, Manolet and the others. Oying called me the following week (Wednesday) and we planned the reunion the following day. We were to meet in San Mig in Ayala Alabang on Thursday (7:00 pm). I was able to talk to Omy Yaptinchay who is now working with ABN AMRO Bank and although he was not able to come i thanked him for giving us an opportunity to provide computer consulting service to his company. I also got in touch with Atty. Manolet Barcelona and since he was tied up with a lot of court cases he had to attend to he also wasnt able to go. I was not able to get in touch with Jerome Pagulayan but we were able to contact Dr. Bob Barzaga. Anyway, come Thursday, the people present were Boy Lazo, Doc Froni, Bob Barzaga and another friend from college days, Dr. Dodie Diomampo (ka batch nina Eric Clarin, Oca Cruz and Bob sa UP). Actually, it so happened na kilala din pala siya nina Boy at Doc Froni kasi all of them are avid golfers.Si Bob lang yata ang hindi pa na-aadict sa laro ng golf kaya iniinganyo siya ng grupo to start playing again. We all called it a day around 12 midnight already kasi there was still work the following day. Actually, Doc Froni was going to play golf in Malarayat which i believe is in either Laguna or Canlubang. I got to play the Riviera in Silang Cavite the following day and it had two courses (one was designed by Fred Couples and the other by B. Langer) kaya lang puro bangin ang paligid. There are lots of good golf courses in Manila now (Riviera, Sta. Elena, Southwoods, Eagle Ridge, Orchard, etc.)If you want to play in any of them, just ask Doc Froni or Boy Lazo and they will take you there. Masyadong pampered ang mga golfers sa Pinas kasi bukod sa may mga caddies na you can always take a hot bath and sauna after you play and they will even clean your golf clubs and shoes. The other good thing is all year round ang golf doon which you guys in California also enjoy. Dito kasi Summer to Autumn lang ang  laro.
