We had the reunion last March 10, 200, Saturday. At Joel de Lara's place in Herndon, Viginia which is 10 minute drive from my place. We chose this day because that is when the three of us were free. Joel has two girls ages 10 and 13yrs old. I have also two girls turning 13 & 18 yrs. old. Danny Sarao on the other hand has two boys age 21 and one younger. The two sons were not able to come but we had the pleasure of meeting Danny's pleasant wife Helen.
Anyway back to this little reunion. Lasing kami ni Joel, because we had one bottle of tequila with 12 beers while Danny only had one beer. Danny hasn't changed physically unlike me and Joel who have big bellies and aging cholesterol faces.
Danny had interesting experiences the past few years. Health-wise, he is okay although he undergoes a periodic heart checkup. He is currently a member of the US Army and served in the Desert Storm frontline campaign against Iraq. Nag Rambo rin siya roon kaya lang hindi pinansin.
Joel and Danny are both in the same section during third year high school, pareho pa nga silang parking lot boys, ako I remember covered courts boys pag break time.
Mas conducive kila Joel mag entertain. Besides his wife's good cooking, sabi nga ni Danny lumabas yun totoong katakawan niya, they have additional help at that time. I think our wive's 's had fun too, medyo napuna namin e tipssy din sila. Wala nang pumuna baka masira pa ang araw.
Medyo may finesse kami dito sa East Coast pag nag-alaskahan o baka naman kasi dahil dala namin ang buong pamilya so ayaw pa kunwaring magbistuhan.
By the way Danny was hospitalize that following Monday after our reunionn. This was scheduled not the epeks of the reunion. He had gull bladder and stones removed. Sabi naman ni ni Joel hindi daw kasi uminum ng Tequilla. Otherwise tanggal na rin yun. He is OK now waiting for the next get together . This time kailangan mag kamikaze siya para ma sterilize lahat ng bacteria namin pati kaluluwa. .
Although we took pictures of ourselves, we planned to have pictures of the entire family to show our class.Our next planned get together here in the East Coast is May 5 Saturday, the same day the West Coast classmates had originally planned for theirs in San Diego reunion. This time , it will be at my place. We all had agreed to l start earlier like 2:00 pm till sawa.
Because we had so much fun in the January reunion I suggested that the three of us see each other at least every three months with alternating host. Siguro madali iyon kasi malalapit lang kami. Danny's place is just an hour's drive. They live in the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland. To think of it mas madaling kausap ang dalawang tao compared sa sampu. So ang attention mo is focused
Frankly the three of us had fun considering this was a spare of the moment thing and that we are a small group. Pero, while we were a small group the memories and the camaraderie were enormous. Talagang Bedistas forever. We look forward to May 5th when the weather we will be much warmer, and which is more conducive sa inuman. The next time we see each other, we agreed to consider discussing the 30th class reunion, which Nonoy Dizon had suggested earlier .
One thing I noticed though, when I was looking at the pictures and stories of the Gimiknight reunion, I still can't imagine why Manok, Jerome Pagulayan , Jessie Ligan , Al Faiga, Manolet Barcelona, and Joey Hizon, did not show-up in the reunion. Well I guess they have their own excusses
Two weeks after our little reunion, I again hooked up with JoeI and Melissa de Lara to ballroom dancing .. This i s just like a group lesson for $10 .Melissa enjoyed it and will try it again .
