When did you get involved with music?

I've been playing somehow for as long as I can remember. I think I first started to goof around on the piano when I was like 6 or 7, I've been playing that ever since. I started playing guitar when I was 9, I got my first guitar for Christmas from my parents when I was 10 or 11, I can't really remember, and I started drums when I was 12. I've been playing bass for a little under a year. Music was something I grew up with...my mom was a music major in college, and my parents are both singers, so it's always been a part of my life.

When did you become a Christian?

I was baptized on July 18th, 1993. I was raised in a Christian home, a Christian environment, from the time I was born. My dad was and is a minister, so God has always been a part of my life, but when I was about 9 or 10 I really realized that I needed God in my life. Some people think that that could be a little young for that kind of decision, but I disagree. When you're baptized, you're born again, and when you're born, you aren't mature and fully grown, but you're a baby. You're young, and ready to grow, and I was at that time. So I talked to the youth minister at GCC at the time, Jeff Hugus, about everything going on and what I needed to do, and I decided it was time to make that decision. My dad baptized me, and my life has completely change since then, as far as how I look at things and other things along those lines. I have absolutely no regrets about that decision; it was and still is the best one I ever made!

What is the best part of being in Sanctuary?

Being able to not only praise and worship God, but being able to share that with others. This has not only been a way to express my love for God and my desire to bring others to Him, but an outlet to use the talents He's given me for Him. Every time I read one of our comment cards after a worship time or a concert that says something like, "I feel blessed by the time you shared with us," or "God truly used you to draw me to Him tonight," I feel good, because I know that I'm doing my job, which is allowing God to use me as an instrument to bring others closer to Him.
