Scarcely a Revelation (Life is Repetition) -6/15/05

Perhaps this sounds like it’s a metaphor,
Perhaps you think that it’s analogy,
But there’s a sickness, dark inside of me.
It’s nothing that I haven’t seen before,
I am familiar with my inner core.
I am aware the depths of treachery,
I’d hang myself on charge of mutiny
Were I the gen’ral of this Holy War.

I’m sick of playing safe when I should stand;
I’m sick of risking all I should defend;
I’m sick of letting whim decide my way;
Lord, still You mark me with Your holy brand,
And for the faithless ones, Your Son You send,
And You would send Him for me still today.
