Behold The Lands -7/06/04
Behold the lands, covered by darkness
Waiting expectantly for something to move
Silent, like life muffled with a thick woolen cloth
Like a water droplet, on the verge of falling
This anticipation, it overshadows the shadows
The storm broods above, soon thunder will fall
Look at the people, backs bent
Toiling away for a hated cause
Long awaiting a reprieve
Ready to be saved, or give up now
This is the anticipation, this the final hour
To shine or to pass on to something dross
The point to which there is no return
A second from now will be death or life
Suddenly a voice breaks the silence, calling “Sacrifice!
Awaken you sleepers! Rend your heavy robes!
Cry out in voices forbidden here no more!
The Glorious One is dead! His Kingdom is here!”
They look up, bewildered, leaving toil where it lies
Blind eyes opening
Searching the splintering clouds,
Reaching up with callused hands
Their first glimpse of the Sun,
I am One.
