Born Helen Elaine Steiner on May 19th 1900,
For all the praise she received during her life, Helen Steiner Rice always remained modest about her remarkable achievements. She began her professional career in public speaking. She turned to poetry after the tragic death of her husband, Franklin Rice. For more than forty years she produced beautiful and expressive inspirational poetry for the Gibson Greeting Card Company. More than 3.5 million copies of her books and booklets of collected poems and over 75 million of her greeting cards have been sold.

Plus many, many more.Helen spent her final months in a retirement center. She died April 23rd 1981. |
