JOYFUL JERKY [CatStuff]

1 pound lean beef steak
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Trim fat from steak. Cut meat diagonally, across the grain into 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick strips and make the strips 3 to 4 inches wide. Mix the oil, soy sauce, and garlic in a bowl. Marinate the meat in the mixture for 2 hours. Place strips on a wire rack in oven at 175 degrees. Leave for 5 hours or until dry but still slightly flexible. Store in an airtight container in a cool place.

CAT COOKIES [Beware of Cat]

5 Tablespoons bacon fat or lard
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup finely grated cheddar cheese
1 small garlic clove finely minced
1 teaspoon cold water

Cream the cheese and the fat. Add garlic. Mix in the flour. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon cold water. Form into a ball. Roll out and cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 375 degrees F until slightly brown, about 10 minutes. Cool and serve.

FELINE FIESTA [Beware of Cat]

SCRUMPTIOUS STEW [CatStuff]

1 whole chicken roaster
16 ounces of brown rice
8 carrots
7 stalks of celery
3 small yellow squash
3 small zucchini
1 small head of broccoli
3/4 cup green beans
5 small cloves of garlic

Chop all vegetables. Wash the chicken and place it in a large stew pot. Cover with water. Add ALL the veggies and the rice to the pot. Cover and cook for 1 to 2 hours until done. The meat comes off the bone easily and the veggies are really soft. Remove the chicken from the pot. Remove the meat from bones and place it on a separate plate. Puree the vegetable mixture and the chicken in a blender or food processor. You decide how much chicken you want to put in with the veggies. Keep covered in refrigerator. Yields several batches.
