| I took this photo from Moro Dona Marta in Rio de Janeiro,Brazil. It contrasts the upper-class and lower-class societies of Rio. In America, we mix and mingle our poor among the higher economic classes. Rio sets their poor apart by allowing them to build on the outskirts of the city -around the mountain sides above the city. We were told that the apartments in the valley could cost up to $1200 a month! |
