I climbed a mountain today
It was rough and ragged and long
I stopped when I was almost through
And I looked back toward home

I saw a friend in the valley
She could not find her way
Her life was filled with sadness
Sin darkened all of her days

I watched closely as she looked up
She started to follow me
But something caught her by surprise
She stumbled and fell to her knees

I thought back on my journey
It was rough and ragged and long
But with a little prayer to You
I turned and started down

Now I’m on my mountain
And my friend is here with me
If it were not for the valleys, Lord,
The mountains would have no glory
The Glory of the Mountain
