A path along a dusty road That led to Calvary Was stained with Jesus’ precious blood- The blood of Christ my King. With crimson robe upon His back- A cross was made His throne- A crown of thorns placed on His head, He died naked and alone. When my journey here is through, I’ll walk on streets of gold. The awesome beauty of that place These eyes will then behold. At Jesus’ feet - the ones that bled - I’ll bow forevermore. I’ll give to Him those crowns I’ve won As I worship and adore. An Eternal Crown that does not rust Like those of kings on earth: The evidence of salvation- My proof of royal birth. |
My Very Own |
I’ll give to Him a Crown of Rejoicing For the souls I’ve won to Him- The lives I’ve touched while here on earth For whom His blood was spilled. The Crown of Righteousness I gained While working this earthly plane- Keeping in mind that some great day My Lord would return again. For all the persecutions That this life did bestow, I’ll give to Him my Crown of Life And I’ll suffer pain no more. The Crown of Glory at last I’ll give To the greatest Teacher of all For it was through His faithfulness That I learned to give my all. How wonderful His precious plan Established so long ago- To trade His earthly kingdom and crown For five of my very own. |
