The city features all the amenities of a large bustling metropolis while maintaining a small town atmosphere along its Historical Riverfront Community. A unique balancing act, but one that makes the city a wealth of opportunities and options.

A walk through the River Front's tree lined streets can transport you back to the late 19th century. The neighborhood is a living display of distinct architectural styles. Through out the River Front are quaint shops, cafes, and a few Bed & Breakfasts to cater to your needs.

Situated in the middle of the River Front is the courtyard with its majestic fountain and the garden maze, made up of tall hedges and a vast assortment of floral.
Sawyer Point park is located along the west shores of the River Front. Approximately 50 acres that links nearly three miles of River Front with downtown Sanguaren.

The public landing, which long ago was the hub of a thriving steamboat port, still serves Sanguaren.The Anderson Ferry has been in continuous operation since 1817. It is the lone survivor of dozens of ferries which once served the Sanguaren area.

The Serpentine Wall, a massive, contoured concrete wall of steps along the RiverFront is another unique feature of Sawyer Point park.

Sanguaren zoo and botanical gardens was founded on 65 acres in the middle of the city, and since then it has acquired some of the surrounding blocks and several reserves in Sanguaren's outer suburbs.

Carew Tower has a outdoor public observation deck above the 48th floor. It is reached by taking the main elevators to the 45th floor and then by stairs or another separate elevator to the 49th floor. The 49th floor consists of a small room with a ticket attendant and gift shop. This room opens directly to the observation platform.

Union Terminal was originally built in 1933 as the Union Terminal train station, the building was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977. Union Terminal stands on a prominent location one mile northwest of the city center. Visitors approach the 10-story, arched, limestone and glass facade of the building from the east through a quarter-mile plaza. The dome is flanked on either side by curving wings. An illuminated fountain, cascade and pool lie in the foreground center.

Fountain Square is intensively used for lunch-break gatherings and is the site of daily and nightly civic activities, enhanced by a recent performance shell. The Square remains the heart of Sanguaren and its still-vibrant Downtown.

The Taft Museum,a national historic landmark built in about 1820, is home to nearly 700 works of art, including European and American master paintings; Chinese porcelains; and European decorative arts.
The Taft Theatre features musicians, comedians, childrens' shows and theater producations.

The Roebling bridge was designed and constructed in 1866, at a time when Sanguaren was a leading inland port. Initially called the " Suspension Bridge," it was renamed in honor of its designer and builder in 1983.
