    Welcome to the Mortal and Mortal+ sphere. We here at San Antonio Nights welcome you to a wonderful environment of role-playing and adventure. The thrill and adventure of the supernatural is great, but what are they without mortals to act as the backdrop of the world, a benchmark if you will. As may World of Darkness players know...a vampire is only as good as those ghouls who guard him as he sleeps, or the consors that assist the magi in their fight against the Technocracy. Of course, this includes the vigilant kinfolk of the shifting races, they who act on behalf of those who by their natures could not act without attracting the dread gaze of the wyrm. Add to this the fact that the player behind the 'common joe' is much more fun than just having an email sent to your mailbox.
     For those new to the world of darkness, or to mush style of role-playing, mortals are those characters without special abilities or powers. They are the backbone of society. Mortal+ are the more unusal types such as Kinfolk (related to Lycanthropes), Kithain (related to fae), Sorcerers (magi that use 'hedge magic' to cast spells), Ghouls (enthralled servants to vampires) and of course your psychics and hunters of things that go bump in the night. While not considered as powerful in the raw way that supernaturals are, they have abilities and skills that others may not be able to access or even to deal with.
     The guidelines to character generation are simple. Background, background, background. We like a good background, a character with a good background shows that you have thought out the concept of the character. We also have a few things that are difficult to play without special consideration. While we are not in the habit of saying no to a transferred character concept, there are certain merits and flaws (found in chargen and on the boards) that are unbalancing and difficult to work with. We as staff prefer it if you replace them with something else.
     Mortals can be approved by any RP staff, provided you use step-by-step chargen and are not overstatted. Mortal+ must be approved by Mortal/Mortal+ staff. If you are applying for any lores from another sphere, it needs to be explained clearly in your background and you must @mail the sphere wiz with the request. We cannot approve cross-sphere lores alone.
     Please feel free to page SA staff, especially Mortal/Mortal+ staff with any questions as they arise about concept, backgrounds, or positions within the city that may need filled. We are always looking for a few good men/women.
