(February 2, 2006)--Stephen Dixon and Derek Meech will find themselves sporting the colours of the San Jose Sharks this year. Both players were taken in the 30th Round (2nd and 4th overall) of the PHL's Fantasy Draft Thursday morning. The most impressive aspect of Dixon's game is his 2-way ability on the ice. He has good hockey sence and that will fits him well for penalty kill situations. He's got a good shot and is great a winning the big faceoff. Dixon lacks a physical game, and is hesitant to go into the heavy trafic areas on the ice. Meech on the other hand is an highly skilled defenceman with a great offensive arsanel. Has great skating ability with phenomenial speed, and brings a nice passing game as well. His down fall is his size, and will have to work his way into the PHL. Both players will be looking to make the jump to the big team in the years to come. |
