(Alyn McCauley named as Sharks captain)
This will definately be a defining moment in my career. It's such a privilage as well being named captain with some of the other leaders we have on this team as well, it could have gone to a number of guys. When I got the
call I was shocked. I was like, no, not me. This must be some kind of joke. But it wasn't. I'm very privilaged to be the leader of this squad and hope to lead us to a long run into the playoffs!" GM Houghton also had this to add: "When deciding who to name captain, I had a tough choice. Any number of guys could

have been named captain. I gave it to McCauley because hes still young, hes been a proven leader in the NHL both in Toronto and San Jose, and will probably be a part of this clubs future for years to come." Also GM
Houghton named Martin St. Louis and Ken Klee as the assistant captains adding: "Ken Klee is one of the older players on the team and his veteran leadership and experience landed him the letter.  Many guys look up to him in the locker room. And Marty, i think he speaks for himself with the success hes had over his career.  I have all the confidence in the world giving these 3 guys to lead our team to victory."
