On the 21st of October, 1987, Depeche Mode embarked on a tour that would end on the 18th June the following year. Over 1 000 000 would have seen the band by the time the tour ended. The final concert of the tour, filmed at the Hollywood Rosebowl in Los Angelas in front of 70 000 spectators, was the 101st show since the tour had started eight months earlier. D.A. Pennebaker followed the band across North America getting glimpses of the band that no one prior to him had been allowed.
