Latest Sarah News
Here you can find the latest news updates involving Sarah. (not articles themselves; for that you may go to the articles section of my site.) Here you'll find news updates blurbs and breaking Sarah stories. (Also a little bit of the news from the rest of the figureskating world is here, if it is somehow related to Sarah.)
Sarah ended up 5th place overall, at her second senior World championships. Sarah was 3rd in her qualifying group. (after MK and Irina) and 4th overall in the short program.
3/20/00- There is no current news on Sarah, except that she is continuing to train for the upcoming Worlds in France. Good luck Sarah!
The junior worlds are now over. Sarah's teamate Sasha Cohen did not qualify for the world championships with a sixth place finish. Sasha finished ahead of Sarah at the US championships just a few weeks ago. The rest of the results were historic for the Americans. They brought home the most medals ever in the US history of competition there. Click here for the complete list of US medal results.
The four continents championships are over. Sarah, along with her Worlds teammate, Michelle Kwan (the current US champ) apparently had elected not to skate in the competition in favor of training for the upcoming Worlds. Their 3rd teamate Sasha Cohen was uneligable and will remain so at least until the junior world championships are completed. In approxamatly another 2 weeks. The fourth, fifth and sixth ranked american ladies competed in the championships and the results were impressive. Angela Nikodinev (4thUS)was champion and Stacey Pensgen (6thUS) was the silver medalist. (On a side note- I really feel this showcases the depth of the American ladies field in the US)
3/9/00- Shortly after the 2000 senior nationals- Sarah will be training for the upcoming world championships in Nice, France. It is undetermined as to wheather Sarah will skate in the four continents championship or wheather her next competition will indeed be Worlds.
