National Defense
The main thing causing the erosion of liberty in the occuppied land formerly known as the United States of America is the masses confusion between national defense and law & order.
"A standing army is always dangerous to liberty," we are told.
However, most people who are willing to concede that fact don't know why a standing army threatens liberty.
In times of peace there should be no standing army. Instead everyone old enough to handle a gun should be trained to use it. Thus, the individual will be able to defend himself from most acts of aggression. Gun ownership must be manditory. This and the enforcement of contracts is the only reason governments should exist.
But how does a standing army turn against liberty?
Failure of the idividual to take responsibility for his or her defense. After a war instead of disbanding the army and sending them back to being producers the masses decide to keep it. This happens for two reasons:
First the masses would rather pay someone else to go about the unpleasant business of defending their liberty from aggression.
Second the average individual wants to tell his neighbor what he cannot do on his own property. This could not be accomplished if there were no standing army. He would have to personaly confront his neighbor to force his will. The other neighbor would have an opportunity to stop the aggressive neighbor using his gun. The only chance for the one who desirers control over his neighbor is to overwhelm him with a standing army(mercinarys).
This is known as LAW ENFORCEMENT
Law enforcement work for the nobility.
A non-standing army works for the underdog. the non-standing army is made up of underdogs.
What is a non-standing army?
It is called a "militia" or "civilian army". This is based on the concept that the masses be armed. This renders it impossible for an armed majority to threaten the liberty of an armed minority and vice versa.
I would go one step further by rejecting the seperation of people into civilian and military classes. Even begining in a state of equality a society divided into civilian and military classes will soon witness the erosion of liberty. Laws are passed restricting the rights of the civilian class while strengthening the rights of the military and police class.
The founders of the united States of America tried to solve this problem in the main body of the Constitution for the United States of America.
Once a society is seperated into civilian and police classes the militia is transformed from a national defense body defending against acts of aggression to a law enforcement body starting acts of aggression.
This has brought me to some unfortunate findings:
1-The national security(i. e. national defense) of the United States of America is being undermined by law enforcement.
2-The evidence from its actions would have me conclude that the pentagon is nothing more than a regional law enforcement office.
How could the defense department and intelligence community responsible for overseeing the national security of the United States of America be compromised?
