Yes ... if you've been anywhere at all on this site, you ought to have seen a certain bay mare making an appearance on just about every page. There is a reason for this. The mare is my mare, and as such deserves to be everywhere. Plus she'd beat me up if I didn't worship her in every way possible.

You may also have come across her fieldmate, Joshua. He doesn't appear so often because he's a grumpy bastard and I don't like him. :) He is, however, a beautiful horse despite personality flaws.

Name: Pepsi (Peppi)
Age: 20
Height: 13.2hh
Breed:
Exmoor x New Forest
Special Markings:
White diamond shaped mark underneath her tummy.
Favourite Food(s): Pears, treacle, sherbert, Vimto juice
Best Habit: She knows when there's something wrong - ie. she'll look after me if I'm upset, and on the occasions she's carried disabled or novice riders she has been the most perfect horse ever (complete opposite of her usual self!). And if you put someone on her who's a bit up themself, she'll soon show you you're not a brilliant rider after all. :)
Worst Habit: She'll buck like hell if you give her the chance. ^-^ And she'll throw herself down/over ditches when out riding if she wants to go home, but generally that's just funny.
Owned For: 7 years

Name: Joshua Jones (Joshua, Josh)
Age: 13
Height: 16hh
Breed:
Unknown, but is registered with the Coloured Horse Society (NB: His parents were not only smaller than him, they were also light horses...)
Special Markings:
Two wall eyes, black 'cap' underneath his forelock
Favourite Food(s): White bread
Best Habit: He's a really nice ride, provided you keep his mind in present day. Otherwise he wanders off and falls over things.
Worst Habit: Don't get me started... :P Although, I s'pose it depends on your point of view - what I consider annoying, my mum thinks is cute!
Owned For: 6 years

Pepsi is a particularly special pony because she is a rescue case (twice), and also belonged to my best friend who sadly died ten years ago. As a youngster, Pepsi was beaten (apparantly by a man, as she's been frightened of men ever since), and eventually abandoned. Although she enjoyed many comfortable years after this, she was sold on again to a woman who wanted her for hunting. Her previous owners soon recieved angry phonecalls saying that Pepsi was "dangerous", that she'd broken the lady's collorbone and that if she wasn't brought back she'd be shot. As we later found out, Pepsi was kept alone although there was another horse - when one horse was out in the field, the other was locked in the shed, and vice versa. As for the collorbone incident, she'd been having her teeth rasped in the stable by an inexperianced vet, and due simply due to pain had tried to push her way out. It was just unfortunate that her owner had got in the way.

As the previous owners weren't able to afford another horse at that time, my mum stepped in and brought her for £100 - £50 less than the meatman was offering. And yes, the little mare's been with us ever since. :) So considering everything she's been through, I think she's absoloutly amazing and there's no way you will ever find another pony quite like her.
