Thanksgiving is a time of gratitude to God,our Creator and Provider,
whose guidance and carego before us...and whose loveis with us forever.
Thanksgiving is a timeto reflect on the changes,to remember that we, too,
grow and changefrom one season of life to another.Thanksgiving is a time
of changing seasons, when leaves turn golden in Autumn's wake
and apples are crispin the first chill breezes of fall.
Let us remember the true meaningof Thanksgiving.As we see the beauty
of Autumn, let us acknowledgethe many blessingswhich are ours...
let us think of our familiesand friends..and let us give thanks in our hearts.

Over the river and through the woods
To Grandmother's house we go.
The horse knows the way
To carry the sleigh
Through the white and drifted snow, O!
Over the river and through the woods
Oh, how the wind does blow.
It stings the nose
And bites the toes

Like a hunting hound

Lord, we thank you for this opportunity
To gather as one in a community,
This branch of our family tree,
Thankful to live in a land that is free
To enjoy this bountiful feast.
As Pilgrims of old
Tradition foretold,
We sit at this table
The young and old who are able.
Roots that are nourished,
Limbs that have flourished
With love and appreciation,
We pray for continuity
Through future generations.

October has the "Monster Mash,"
And other songs so spooky.
They mix with all that candy and
Drive trick-or-treaters kooky.

December has a million songs
About our favorite season.
They make you feel all warm inside
While outside it is freezin'.

But what about November and
Its thankful holiday?
You'd think by now someone would
Write some songs that we could play.

Of corn and friends and pilgrims
Of food and thanks galore.
And we could play them really loud
(And NOT hear Daddy snore!)
