chapter one
Pan lay lazily on the grass staring at the stars above. Her heart ached so much she could hardly think straight. Her mind was spent with things of what could have happened. What did she do that was so bad or wrong? She thought endlessly for the past three weeks. Hoping something would come to her, but nothing did. It was of no use. She couldn't fix it, because for the first time there was nothing to be fixed.
Her eyes were shadowed in darkness with tints of redness that contrasted with her pale skin. Her cheeks had lost their perfect glow, her lips no longer held their touch of soft red. Her eyes had long lost their sparkle of life and happiness that she brought to everyone around her and herself. It had been three weeks...
"Pan, I'm sorry. I just don't think this will work anymore...I can't keep lying to myself about how I feel about you. You knew from the beginning we where just going to try it out and see if it worked. Well, it's been two months and I don't think I like or much less love you any more than a friend. "What do you mean it's over just like that? I thought we had something. Or is it because I don't want to sleep with you? Well, I'm sorry if I'm not some slut who just jumps into bed with you." Pan said raising her voice for all the world to hear as tears streamed down her face.
"Pan, that was never the problem. I can't believe you said that. I'm not some freakin horny guy who will let everyone jump in the bed with me." Trunks yelled back matching his voice with hers.
"Then why, is there some other girl?" Pan asked not really wanting to know the answer to that. "No Pan, there's not, that's why I have to end it like this before we really hurt each other in the end." Trunks said walking over grabbing Pan by the shoulders and trying to tell her straight in her face so she would listen to him.
"What do you mean, we? I was happy with us and would never want to end our relationship. I still want to be with you." Pan said with tears now rolling down her cheeks as she pushed herself away from him. With that Pan ran out of his house and flew away before he could see her cry anymore over him.
"Pan, what are you doing. Trying to catch a cold or die?" A soft female voice said coming up to Pan. "Shut up baka, I'm a saiya-jin and can't die from a little cold. It's unheard of." Pan said still laying on the ground. Bra walked over there and lay next to Pan. "Well, with the way you been keeping yourself up, it wouldn't surprise me."
Bra said trying to lighten the mood. "What the hell do you know, you don't know what I've been through." Pan said sitting up now. Bra raised herself up to and placed her hand on her shoulder. " I would like to know, I'm your friend. I know we've never been the best of friends but I still am your friend." Bra said looking at her as Pan looked straightforward.
"Please, there is nothing anyone can do now. What has happened has happened and nothing can change that..." Pan said hastily with her voice wanting to crack in the end as she felt the tears burn her eyes as they kept them from flowing.
She stood up and walked over to the pond and crossed her arms over her chest. "Pan, please talk to me. I'm only trying to help." Bra said walking up to her from behind. "Bra just drop it, don't you have something better to do than try to be my friend right now." Pan said.
"Pan, damn it look at me." Bra said raising her voice. Pan turned around only to find Bra's hand slap across her cheek. "Now you listen her missy, I am you friend and always have been and you know that. Pan, have you even looked at yourself? You look sick and not like your old self. What happened to you?"
"Fine, you want to know what happened. Your brother is what happened. He seemed to think out of the blue that it wouldn't work between us anymore. There are you happy." Pan said loosing her temper as burning tears where finally released from her eyes. Bra could only take Pan into her arms and hug her tightly. To her surprise Pan hugged her back.
"Pan I'm sorry, I didn't know. Trunks hasn't said anything about it to anyone or me. I'm sure he didn't mean it. Maybe he was in a bad mood." Bra said soothing into her ear. "No, you don't understand. It's over. He meant what he said. There's no point in trying to fix it." Pan said still crying on Bra's shoulder.
"You don't know, try and talk to him." Bra said pulling away a bit looking her in the face trying to smile to cheer her up. "I don't Bra..." was all Pan could say.
"Well, hey why don't you spend the night at my house tonight. That's why I came out anyway. Your dad asked me if I knew where you were since you hadn't come home yet. So I told him that you where staying at my place. So we better get back before he calls and finds us not there. Ok?" Bra said smiling at Pan who finally smiled back at her.
"Hm, never thought I would hear of Bra Vegeta doing something like that. You always seem to be the innocent one." Pan said finally backing away from Bra. "Hehe, there's a lot about me that would surprise you and even my dad if only y'all knew." Bra said.
"Well, can we go now? I don't want to be reminded of this place anymore." Pan said taking of into the air. "PAN...WAIT.... I CAN'T FLY!!!!!!" Bra yelled at her. "Oh, sorry Bra..." Pan said smiling at Bra as she came back down.
"Well, I guess I'll carry you then because I don't feel like walking and flying is always quicker. "Fine, but if you drop me, or even play around like Trunks does, I'll open my big mouth to everyone about tonight." Bra said being lifted by Pan.
"Who said I was going to, and who said you where going to open your big mouth to anyone." Pan said now taking off to Bra's place.
"Ok, you can sleep on the bed with me or on the floor. I really don't care, but if you snore, kick or do anything that involves hurting me from getting my sleep I'm throwing you off the bed." Bra said throwing Pan a little shirt to sleep in for the night.
"Whatever, and the same goes for you." Pan said back putting the shirt on. "Well, now that's settle it's about time we get to know each other better. So get into bed and get ready to talk." Bra said turning off the lights and flipping on the lamp next to her bed.
"Fine, but don't get all boy crazy on me. Plus I would like to ask you how you knew where to find me. "Pan asked lying in Bra's bed on her side facing Bra as Bra did the same to face her.
"Well, Trunks told me that's where you two use to always go and talk. Sometimes just to get away from everything or everybody. Plus he said there was something special about that place. Though he never told me what." Bra said. "You know why?" she asked.
"Well, it was where we first kissed and hooked up at." Pan said now looking down. "Oh, Pan you can't keep doing this to yourself. It's not worth it, is this why you have been acting weird for the past three weeks?" Bra asked.
"Yeah, it was three weeks ago we broke up at his place, but your right. I'm not going to let it bother me anymore. And as for that place, well it's all his for I have no reason to go back there." Pan said trying to smile at Bra.
"Hey Pan, I have an idea to keep your mind off him. Why don't you teach me how to fly that way you won't have to carry me around when we go off?" Bra said. "Sure, but don't get mad at me after I show you how to fly. It's not all that pleasant, but afterwards you could slap yourself for seeing how easy it is in the end."
"Well, that's ok, I'm not as delicate as people like to think I am." Bra said back. "Well, than we better stop talking because it's going to take at least half a day." Pan said rolling over and laying her head on the pillow.
"Ok, but we will have to finish talking tomorrow after you teach me so don't think your getting out of this. Trust me, hey who knows. Maybe I can get you talk to Trunks and you can work things out." Bra said rolling over and turning off the lamp as she snuggled underneath the covers to go to sleep.
