Sativa Biography Sativa where formed around Christmas time 2000 by Rich Nichols (vocals/guitar), Alex Dobson (guitar/keyboards). After deciding on the genre of music they wanted to play they recruited a bassist in the form of mutual friend Steve Berrieman (bass/vocals). Later they recruited Chris Holt (drums) via advertising for a drummer. Sativa made their live debut in their home town of 'Hull' on the 7th April 2002. The idea behind Sativa was to do something different to what was going on in the rock world by encorparting a mix of grunge and psychedlia, with influences ranging from the likes of Bush, Silverchair and Alice in Chains, to bands such as Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin.
