Sativa are pleased to announce the appointment of a new drummmer, in the from of Rob Lewis, 26 from York. At his audition, Rob impressed the band far more than any of the other applicants, and was invited to join the band. Look out for Sativa gigs in the near future, with a few oldies, and plenty of new stuff. The website will be updated when I have full details, maybe the ever elusive new look for the website will make an appearance.
28th May 2004
Sativa are sad to announce that Chris, Sativa's drummer has departed the band as he has moved away from Hull as work prospects beckoned. As I'm sure you can all imagine, the rest of the band, and friends who knew Chris, are well and truly gutted about this. The band intend to carry on right where they left off, with offers of higher profile gigs and growing media interest in the band. Also, I would like to add that the Rich, Steve and Alex remain fully committed to Sativa.
We are now advertising for a replacement for Chris, so if anyone is interested, or knows anyone who would be interested, please get in touch by clicking here or via the contacts page. All applicants must be able to play to an excellent standard.
13th March 2004
Sativa's next gig is to be in association with Viking and Kerrang! radio stations. Held on the 6th April at the Adelphi (Hull) with support from Blind Frog Ernie and Displacements. Check back soon for more details as they are confirmed, this one definately promises to be a good night.
04th March 2004
Unfortunately Scenes have been forced to pull out of the upcoming gig at the Adelphi (09th March), Sativa have now confirmed they are to headline the gig with support from Le Shed and Displacements.
23rd Febuary 2004
As you all should know, Sativa's debut EP - Understanding Coma is now available to buy at all Sativa Shows, priced £4. For alternate arrangements for a copy, please email us from the contact page.
As planned it features the tracks Karma Kill, Petrol in the Garden and Narcolepsia. Sales are going well at present, and so it shouldnt be too long before the second release from Sativa.
The band will have a couple of new numbers for you over the next run of gigs, which once again promise to become regulars in the set. Also in the pipeline
is a brand new Sativa website, which is currently in the planning stages, but promises much more in the way of interactivity.
Check out the gigs page for all the up-coming shows, particularly the support for Scenes, who's last gig was one that anyone who saw it, was not to be missed. And secondly, Sativa are once again to play in support of Fulc, later in April.
08 December 2003
After an initial setback for the recording, Sativa are back on track and are recording this week. Their debut 3 track EP will feature Karma Kill, Narcolepsia and Petrol in the Garden. It is to be recorded at Fairview studios and engineered by John Spence. We hope to have the CD released for christmas, and it will be available at HMV, Virgin Megastore and MVC. And of course there will be a launch night to celebrate the release.
08 November 2003

Prepare for some more Sativa shows this month - the first of which is a headline gig on the 7th November followed by what promises to be a truly amazing gig for all - where Sativa support Scenes (formerly Vex Red). Both at The Adelphi Club, De Grey Street, Hull. Check the Gigs page for more gigs later in the month. Finally - over the next few days and weeks Sativa will be announcing full details of their imminent recording at Fairview Studios which is to be Engineered by John Spence.

July 2003
I has come to our attention that another band, based in Lincolnshire has begun using
the name Sativa. We would like to point out that we are in no way connected with this other
band. Please check on the gigs page before attending any gigs as there has already been some confusion.
Currently Sativa are in discussion with legal advisors and are hoping to bring this dispute to a swift conclusion.

As you may have noticed, there's been a few changes made to the Sativa website. There's plenty more stuff to go up,
so keep checking for new pictures, sounds and details on upcoming gigs throughout the summer. Sativa plan to concentrate more on local gigs this summer, until their first EP - 'Understanding Coma'
is released. If you experience any problems with the new site, please send an email from the contact page so they can be fixed.
Gigs will be posted as soon as details are confirmed.
