Disclaimer: Not mine. So please don’t sue. Only the story and the made up characters belong to me.

Distribution: Tell me where you’re taking it first. I’m pretty sure I’ll say you can post it, but just let me know where it’s going. OK? OK.

Feedback: Please I live for it. I so live for it.

Notes: Sixth season of BTVS/ third season of Ats. After Buffy chops off her hair, meaning post Spike, which may or may not be relevant to the story. I haven’t decided yet. Anyway there is absolutely no Faith in this story. Kendra never died so……no Faith.

‘The Visitor’ Summary: Buffy’s been in a bummed out mood lately and once again her friends are either to stupid or to blind to notice. Her mood however doesn’t go unnoticed through the bond that she shares with Angel. But when Angel shows up in town something strange starts to happen. A mysterious young woman comes back from the future to try and get her mother, to go back in time and stop her father from coming up with a plan to kill all of Buffy’s friends, mainly Kendra. So now Buffy’s on a mission to change the past. But when she gets there is saving Kendra the only thing on her mind? Or is the chance to make things right between her and Angel just to great to pass up?

‘Not So Innocent’ Summary: When Buffy arrives in Sunnydale 98’, she quickly discovers that the past is not following the same path that she remembers. It’s also not helping that Buffy’s past and present spirits are sharing the same body. But what she fails to see is that in order to make it out alive this time around, she’s going to need both her past and present spirits.

Notes(2): Since this story deals with going back in time, there is a lot of parts taken from the original story. But I guarantee nothing will be the same. Some parts in the beginning are similar to the episode ‘Innocence,’ but the whole episode has been flipped upside down. If you like a story that keeps you interested and is unpredictable, this is for you.

‘The Visitor’ Characters and Pairings: Buffy/Angel(us), Xander/Cordy, Willow/Oz, Spike/Dru, Xander/Anya, Kendra/Scott, Ensemble from BTVS/Ats

‘The Visitor’ Ratings: R; NC-17

Note (3): Each book in this story is a season of Buffy. For example, Book 1 is season 2. Each Part is an episode of Buffy. Example, Part 1 ‘Not So Innocent’ is ‘Innocence’ from the show. If this confuses you just let me know and I’ll try to explain it better.

The Visitor

Book 1

Prologue

Buffy watched as her friends danced the night away at the local club, The Bronze. She didn’t really feel like dancing or much of anything else, so she jotted down a note on one of the napkins and left.

While walking down the street, Buffy felt a tingly feeling way down in her gut, a feeling she would never forget. There was no doubt that someone was following her. She tried her best to hide the smile that was forming and instead stopped. “How long are you going to stay back there? I’m starting to feel like this is the first day we met all over again.”

Emerging from the shadows that always seemed to bend to his will, he smiled at Buffy and spoke up. “Is there a problem ma’am?”

Smiling at the memory, Buffy answered, half way tempted to knock him on his ass just for a better feel of the moment. “Why are you following me?”

“I know what you’re thinking, but I don’t bite.” Angel gave her his trademark smirk.

           “Angel.”

“Buffy.”

Buffy took a deep breath then asked, “What’s up?” Angel’s presence was driving her crazy. She couldn’t focus properly with all her feelings going haywire and ‘Couldn’t he at least look dumpy sometimes?’ She thought to herself.

“I don’t know. I just had a feeling that was screaming at me to come.”

“What kind of feeling?” Before he could say anything, lights began to shimmer in front of them. Angel turned around to get a better look at it while unconsciously moving closer to Buffy. The wind began to pick up, making Buffy shiver, so Angel pulled her up against his body. After a while a figure started to emerge from the light. “Angel, what’s going on?” Buffy asked, preparing herself for a fight.

“I don’t know.” He answered while following Buffy’s lead. The lights started to dim, then disappear, and in its place stood a young girl, who had an uncanny resemblance to Buffy, only she had brown hair and the look on her face just screamed ‘Angel’. She appeared to be 19 or 20 and she obviously didn’t take anything from the look in her eyes.

           “Angel, what…how…who…”

“I know. She looks just like you.”

“Yeah, but clearly not my hair or eyes. Oh God! She’s…”

           “Your daughter.” The girl finished.

“What’s going on?” Buffy asked again.

“Let me answer that. My name is Angie. I’m from the future.”

“Why are you here?” Angel asked while him and Buffy came out of their fighting stances.

           “To change the past.”

“Ok, it’s quite obvious that you’re our daughter, but how is that possible. I mean Angel’s a vampire and if we get physical then he’ll go all wiggy. Not to mention the fact that he can’t  even have kids. Well except Connor, but he was prophesized, OH does that mean that you’re prophesized as well?! I mean don’t get me wrong, I would love to have a kid with Angel, but that’s just…”

           “Love. You’re babbling.”

“Sorry. I just wanted to know how all of this is possible.”

“I’m not really allowed to discuss the future. All I can tell you is that you, Buffy, are the strongest and most successful Slayer ever, and that you, Angel, are also recognized as the greatest warrior for The Powers That Be. I’m a Slayer in the future and because of the power converges of the both of you, I have mystical powers.”

“What kind of powers?” Buffy asked, looking as if she wanted to pull out a pen and some paper and start taking notes.

“I can conduct electrical sparks from my fists, along with a couple of other things.”

           “Really?”

“Yeah, but because of my nature I’m much stronger at night than in the day.”

           “How much stronger?”

“I have about twice my Slayer strength at night.”

           “Wow!”

           “Yeah.”

“Angie,” Angel interrupted, “you said you’re a Slayer not The Slayer. Does that mean there are others?” ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’ Buffy asked herself. ‘Oh yeah, probably because I can’t get over the fact that my future *daughter* has come back from the future. Oh, and the fact that she’s mine and *Angel’s*.’

“There are two Slayers in my time. I’m the youngest.”

“Do you know the other?” Buffy asked.

           “I should. She’s you.”

“Me? Wow! I survived!” Buffy sounded more then a little relieved.

“What in the past must you change?” Angel asked.

“Well, me, my mother and father, and Connor are all warriors for The Powers, but The Oracles told me we would need a third Slayer.”

“The Oracles? Aren’t they dead?” Angel asked.

           “Who’s The Orkie?”

“The Oracles Buffy.” Angel answered, use to her improper pronunciation. “They’re the direct line to The Powers That Be.”

“And now they’re dead?”

“Yes, their mortal bodies are dead, but their spirits are not.” Angie answered.

“A third Slayer? I’ve only known two Slayers besides me; Kendra’s dead…” Buffy lowered her eyes, trying to hide the tears that were welling up in her eyes. “and I *won’t* be joining sides with Faith anytime soon.”

“Maybe you won’t have to.” Angel baited her.

“Yeah.” Recognition dawned on her face. “Maybe not.” she agreed.

“Oh, this must be one of those shared moments you guys have. Don’t mind me then.” Angie said, not quite sure her ‘parents’ even heard her.

           “Need some help?”

           “That would be great…”

“But…” Angel cut her off.

“But, where I’m going I don’t think you’re going to be on everyone’s favorite list.”

Angel pulled Buffy aside and asked. “Wouldn’t it be better to go back before I went evil?”

“If I go back to far, it may change this to drastically. Kendra may not come back to Sunnydale if that happens. Angel there are a lot of memories that I would like to change, but that night I was truly in Heaven. And hey remember, been there. So I know what it’s like.” She gave him a small smile and took a deep breath. “I wouldn’t change that night for anything Angel. I love you. More then I ever thought possible. You are the reason I continue to fight. You give me hope.”

“I love you too beloved. You are my salvation. My redemption. Which is why you have to let me go with you Buffy. I can help you fight me…him.”

Angie walked over to Buffy and Angel. “Am I to understand that you are going back in time?”

           “Yup.” Buffy simply answered.

“Once you encounter your past self, make sure she does not see you. If past and present meet, they will both cease to exist. Simply vanish. Forever.” Takes a short breath and continues. “You will be able to freeze her for a matter of seconds. Once you do, join with her and become her. You only get one chance, so make it count.” Angie began to hook several devices on to Buffy.

           “Join?”

“You’ll be able to take over your past self’s body. You must follow everything up until that critical moment exactly.”

“Buffy, please let me go with you.” Angel pleaded.

“You can’t. If you join with your past self, the demon will consume you.” Angie added.

“Besides, I need you here.” Buffy looked up into Angel’s eyes and placed her hand on his cheek. “You have to protect Dawn, Connor, and the others.” Angel dropped his head. “Hey,” Buffy forced him to look at her again, “I’ll be fine. I’m The Slayer remember? And I’ve been there already. I made it the first time, I’ll make it this time. Promise me you’ll look after Dawn and the others. I won’t be able to concentrate unless I know you’ll be here.”

“I promise love. I won’t let you down.” Angel moved his head to the left and kissed Buffy’s hand that was still on his face. Buffy smiled at Angel and pulled him in for a kiss, which grew more and more passionate as time went on.

“You never could.” Buffy told him as the kiss finally ended. “I love you Angel. Always have, always will.

“I love you too Buffy. More than you’ll ever know.”

           “Ready mother?” Angie asked.

Buffy reached over and kissed Angie on the side of her face. “You look so much like Angel. It feels my heart with joy to see how you’ve become. I love you Angie. And I look forward to having you.”

“Thank you mother. I love you and father very much.”

           “I’m ready.”

“Remember. Things must stay the same up until that point. Have a safe trip.” Angie began to fiddle with some of the equipment she hooked on to Buffy.

“Good luck love.” Angel whispered as he watched the love of his life disappear into the night’s sky.

Angie turned to Angel once Buffy was gone. “That’s not the only reason she’s going back is it father? To save Kendra.”

“No, it’s not. Half of her is going back to save Kendra. She doesn’t talk about it much, but I know she misses her. They never really got along until Kendra came back that second time, but Buffy did love her. She was like a sister to her. One who not only knew her secret, but shared it as well. There was this unbreakable bond between the two, one that no matter how they felt about each other, they always knew that the other would have their back. And I had her killed. And instead of blaming me, she blamed herself. And then started hating herself after she failed me on top of Kendra.” He answered still not taking his eyes of the spot Buffy disappeared from. Then he turned and looked at Angie. “And when Faith came, it was just to much for Buffy. She was scared that if she let Faith in, she’d let her down like she did Kendra. And when she finally realized Faith and Kendra weren’t the same, it was to late: Faith had sucked Buffy into her world and in turn Buffy began to resent Faith. I think on some level Faith realized it and felt her only option was to join the mayor. But of course by that time she had already killed someone so…”

“Wow!!! Buffy told you all that?”

“Some of it. I’ve been around long enough to fill in the other parts.”

“And the other half?” Angie asked.

“The other half is going back to save me.”

“From what? Dying?”

“From everything. From me dying. From me killing her teacher, torturing Giles, Willow’s goldfish… everything.”

“What about you torturing her? Telling her mom that you slept together?”

           “No.”

           “But why not those?”

“To this day, Buffy still believes it was her fault that I lost my soul. So she welcomes the pain.”

“Didn’t you try and convince her otherwise?”

           “She won’t hear of it.”

“Wow. She’s awfully strong to take that burden on.”

“Strongest person I know. I just wish she’d let that pain go. I’d gladly take all her pain onto myself if I could. If only I could.” Angel looked back to the spot Buffy disappeared from. “What’s going to happen when she starts changing things?”

“Don’t worry. The Oracles told me she would change more then Kendra’s death. They expect her to. But she’s also gonna have to see that she can’t change everything. She’s gonna have to let a lot of stuff play out like it did the first time. And a lot of other things will happen that didn’t happen before. Nothing ever plays out exactly the same…”
