Chibi Usa loses her hat in a park. A strange girl picks it up for her. The girl's name is Hotaru. Chibi Usa who is looking for new friends immediately likes her. When a Daimon wants to catch them, Chibi Usa pushes Hotaru out of the way. She gets caught herself. Hotaru is very worried about Chibi Usa. The girl is saved by Pluto but she has a scar on her knee. Hotaru puts her hand on Chibi Usa's knee and heals it. She is afraid that Chibi Usa may be shocked and will avoid her like the kids in her class have done. They call her a witch because she has this strange healing ability. But Chibi Usa wants to befriend Hotaru and says that it is a great ability. Chibi Usa walks with Hotaru back to her house. She is very worried about her new found friend because the girl seems to suffer from a strange illness. Chibi Usa and Hotaru become very good friends. She visits Hotaru and tries her best to cheer her up. She also invites Hotaru to picnics, to the planetarium and they play together. One day the inside of Hotaru's house is transferred into another dimension. Chibi Usa encourages Hotaru to search a way out of the house with her. The setting always changes and Chibi Usa suddenly goes off a huge gap between two cliffs. Hotaru holds on to Chibi Usa until she can't and both fall off the cliff. They are saved by Sailor Venus. The senshi tell them that they can't bring Hotaru and Chibi Usa outside using Sailor Teleport. Hotaru insists that they leave her behind. Of course they don't leave her behind but try to find another way out. Finally  the Sailor Senshi defeat the Gambling Monster with Hotaru's help and the house is normal again. Although Michiru and Haruka tell Chibi Usa to avoid Hotaru because she might be evil and has strange powers Chibi Usa still trusts her friend. When it comes to light that Hotaru is Sailorsaturn, Senshi of Death and Destruction, and very dangerous, Uranus, Neptune and even Pluto try to kill her. But Chibi Usa runs in front of her ready to take their blasts in order to protect Hotaru. They are both saved by Sailormoon and Hotaru vanishes. Chibi Usa is very sad. She tries everything to find her best friend again. But Hotaru's house is empty and Usagi can stop Chibi Usa before she enters Hotaru's school, the headquarters of the Death Busters. Hotaru has always felt that there is something evil and powerful  hidden inside her, just waiting to control her. Therefore she has told Chibi Usa to leave her alone. She doesn't want to hurt her best friend. On the other hand she needs Chibi Usa's kindness and does not want to end their friendship. She buys a pot plant for Chibi Usa not knowing that this evil flower has been created by Tellu, one of the Death Busters, in order to steal heart crystals. Setsuna destroys the flower before it can harm Chibi Usa. The little girl is shocked but she tries her best to prove that Hotaru has nothing to do with the flower. Even when Chibi Usa is kidnapped by Kaolinite and the Daimon inside Hotaru's body steals her heart crystal she is pleased to see that her friend is well. Hotaru fights against Mistress 9 and she remembers Chibi Usa's friendship and gets new strength to get rid of the powerful Daimon. Pharaoh 90 has reached the earth and is going to destroy it. But before Sailorsaturn fights against him she visits Chibi Usa and gives her the heart crystal back. After she has been reborn as a baby they meet again. Baby Hotaru still seems to like Chibi Usa very much. Chibi Usa is glad that Hotaru is well and lives a new life but she knows that they can't be friends  the way they have been before. After Neherenia has been freed by Galaxia Baby Hotaru ages with incredible speed and they meet at the Hikawa Shrine when they senshi are attacked by Shard Demons. Chibi Usa is happy to see Sailorsaturn again. Later Hotaru is worried because Chibi Usa begins to fade. Together with Chibimoon she reaches Neherenia's stronghold in order to save Mamoru. When Chibimoon fails to wake him up, Saturn is willing to destroy herself and the world. But Chibimoon although she is in pain stops Saturn's attack, she doesn't want to lose her friend again. Finally Mamoru is healed and Chibimoon who has faded completely, appears again. Hotaru's Friends HOME
