| Sailorsaturn is undoubtedly the senshi with the shortest appearance in the whole anime series. Her power is the most dreadful of all for she is able to destroy a planet with only one attack. Therefore she is feared by the other Outer Senshi and they try everything to prevent her from being awaken. They think her first move will be to destroy the Earth. The first clear sign that the weak and ill Hotaru is in truth the powerful Sailorsaturn, can be seen after a Daimon has blasted Hotaru in the planetarium. The planetary symbol of Saturn appears on her forehead and she is surrounded by purple light. Pluto, Uranus and Neptune are shocked and they attack her but she escapes. The Death Busters are not interested in awakening her either because Hotaru is the vessel of Mistress Nine. But it is the power of Sailorsaturn that is able to break the evil spell and destroys Mistress Nine. Hotaru herself is too weak for this fight but Sailorsaturn is strong enough to win. After Mistress Nine is gone, the spirit of Saturn visits Chibi Usa and gives her the heart crystal back. Then she appears in front of Sailormoon and changes into a real person. Sailorsaturn knows who she is and she also knows her task. The planet, she is going to destroy, is not Earth but Master Pharaoh 90 and she knows the price she will have to pay for a victim. Nevertheless she doesn't hesitate, like the other Outer Senshi she is willing to sacrifice herself to do what must be done. So she forbids Sailormoon to follow her and jumps right into the very core of Pharaoh 90. The last words the others outside hear from here are, "Good-bye!". We never know what happened inside the core of Pharaoh 90 but Sailorsaturn must have used her ultimate attack. It destroys Pharaoh 90, Saturn dies and is reborn as baby Hotaru. Sailormoon carries her away from the exploding Pharaoh 90. The next time we see Sailorsaturn again, she is a translucent vision standing in front of the surprised Hotaru. She tells the little girl that she is her protector and touches Hotaru's forehead with a small globe of energy. All the lost memories come back and Hotaru remembers who she is and what she has done in the past. The planetary symbol glows on her forehead and now she has got her powers back again. We never see any transformation scene and so we don't know if she has a transformation stick like the others. She powers up all by herself, there is no other explanation for the new fuku she wears when she appears at the Hikawa temple when the Inners are fighting against the Mirror Paredories. Sailorsaturn herself doesn't attack, but she commands the other senshi to unite their powers in order to support Sailormoon. She is the first one who starts to glow, showing that she is giving her power to Sailormoon and the others follow her example otherwise there wouldn't have been an Eternal Sailormoon. Together with Chibimoon Sailorsaturn shows up in the stronghold of Queen Neherenia, threatening her with the sharp blade of her Silence Glaive. The weapon is not meant to slice the queen's throat but Saturn wants to buy time for Chibimoon so that the little girl can try to free her future father, Mamoru. Neherenia wants to stop them and blasts Chibimoon and Mamoru but before the black lightnings can harm them, Sailorsaturn jumps in between and protects them. One moment later she shows that she is willing to destroy the world rather than allowing Queen Neherenia's to gloat over her victory. No question, Sailorsaturn is a "true" Outer Senshi, completely dedicated to her task and never hesitating when she has to sacrifice herself or others. Thanks to Chibimoon who stops Saturns attack the world isn't destroyed. Saturn is distracted and is caught in a mirror like the other senshi. It shows that being distracted is her weak spot. When Galaxia tells her that she is the one who is responsible for the awakening of Saturn, so that she can take her starseed as well, Saturn is shocked and can't believe it. Before she can use her attack against Galaxia, she gets blasted and her Glaive breaks apart like Pluto's staff. She has no weapon left when Uranus and Neptune attack them, and just like Pluto, she doesn't try very hard to fight back. Finally, she just closes her eyes and takes the hit, loses her starseed and fades.... of course she comes back after Eternal Sailormoon has defeted Chaos. Weapons and attacks: Silence Glaive Surprise This attack has never been completed, but it starts when Saturn holds her Glaive high up in the air, it glows with purple energy, then she shouts her attack phrase and brings it down. It must have hit the ground (the carter there proves it) and the result is a rather strong earthquake combined with a blast of purple light but it has not released its full power, otherwise the world would have been destroyed. Silence Wall This is a defensive power and she uses it only twice, the first time when she blocks the energy of Neherenia's attack to protect Mamoru and Chibimoon, and the second time when she shields Eternal Sailormoon. She holds her Glaive like a shield and the black energy doesn't seem to hit her or those she is protecting. HOME |
