UFO Information
This is an area of UFO-related information.
Here's a simple list of things, until a more interesting document
can be made.
- The text of report on
The CIA's Role in the Study of UFO's, 1947-90
declassified from the CIA's own "Studies of Intelligence".
(They lied -- a lot. The question is, are they still
lying?)
- The text of the
recent 'Stanford panel' report, that recommended serious scientific
study of the UFO phenomenon used to be here
- The FBI's own "Unusual
Phenomena" pages, released as part of the Freedom of Information
Act. (This has been dubbed "the real X-Files", but as far as I'm
concerned, "the real X-Files" is still on TV :-). UFO's, Roswell,
Majestic-12, animal mutilation, and more! These are pdf's of images
of FBI documents, and so are sometimes a little hard to read...
- It had to happen eventually - a stageplay based on the
abduction phenomenon. Abducted!
is the story of five humans and one alien all inhabiting the same body
(and played by one actor.)
- The
ftp.rutgers.eduUFO FTP
area. (Now actually a http area, though the old ftp area will remain for a bit).
- The Internet UFO Group's page.
- Rene Mueller's
Spirituality & NewAge site
that has something for just about everybody!
- A UFO
Bibliography of books relating to the subject.
- The Alberta UFO Research Association
(AUFORA) web page. Very slick!
- Nick Humphries' UFO
Guide.
- The National UFO Reporting
Center (USA).
- The UFO Online page.
- The Italian CUN Centro Ufologico Nationale.
- The Alt.alien.visitors
FAQ.
- Nick's Real MIB Page
is a good compendium of files concerning one of the enduring
myths/phenomena (depending on your point of view) of the UFO age, that
of the "Men In Black"; the Silencers. Be ready for the "tripod popup"
javascript dealie that shows up when you visit. (Note: this is not
associated with the movie/comic of the same name. Here's the page
for the film.
- Want to know about Area
51? This is the site of the author of the justly-famous Groom Lake Desert
Rat.
- Here's the Paranet
Archives,, which are somewhat old; and the Paranet Website (which is
new).
- And this is the UIowa archive of
alt.alien.visitors, the abduction, and ufo mailing lists.
- Dan Geib's UFO Folklore
page has lots of nice graphics, and good info too!
- The grandly-titled Ultimate
Ufologists WWW page is a very good colletion of information.
- A large collection of UFO-related programs, pictures and documents
can be found at the
Italian Center for UFO Studies (CISU). Here's the
Italian version.
- David Schmitz's
Smitty's UFO Page has Groom Lake, UFO's, and other fun stuff.
- Matthew Dzurik's gigantic compilation of UFO and Alien
Information includes listings of tons of ftp and www ufo-related
sites, with quick-connect links added by my humble self. Give it a
try!
- A UFO picture gallery.
- A fun UFO "bubblegum
card" collection, done by Michael Nowicki (miken@aimnet.com).
- The Mutual UFO Network, one of
the oldest continuing UFO investigative groups in the US (besides the
USAF, of course :-).
- The Center for UFO Studies, the
other major non-net-based UFO investigation group in the US.
- gopher://wiretap.spies.com/11/Library/Fringe/UFO
- For those of a more 'skeptical' self-description, here's the
CSICOP
(Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the
Paranormal) web pages.
- The phoenix.oulu.fi
collection of UFO and space pictures. (Also seems to be unavailable)
Charles McGrew, mcgrew@info.rutgers.edu Neato masthead by
