Subject: Triangular UFO's Lines: 147 Regarding... [START] Date: Fri, 23 Dec 1994 03:10:26 -0500 From: Joe LeSesneSubject: Strobing? Within a day several reports from friends and family have come to me. Two from staunch skeptics of the paranormal. Some backrounmd info: I and all parties concerned live in Pittsburgh, PA and one night my sister was on her way inside her house when this very bright light shown on her. There was no source she could pinpoint, just an extremely bright light which was tight (only shown on her and a small area surrounding her), the light apperared to come from a low angle but as she said for the short time it was on she couldn't pinpoint it. Her fiancee' is a real skeptic and he had the same thing happen to him on the way into the house. Blindingly bright light which stayed on for about a second and had a tight focus. Light too bright to pinpoint in such a short period of time. THEN tonight (or this morning) the very same thing happened to a friend of mine in my driveway (the other incidents happened at my the couple's house which is mile from here). Anyway he too is a big skeptic of the paranormal yet he yelled for me and asked "Did you see that? Did you see that!" To which I responded, "See what?" and he related the same details as above but he said the light had a somewhat greenish color. I then told him about my sister and soon to be brother-in-law's sighting. Some nights before we were in my driveway and spot a craft (won't call it a plane yet) which had 3 lights on it in a triangular formation and a red "beacon" light underneath. Now what drew our attention to it was it's wobbly motion at first. It seemed like it was floating like a falling leaf. (since we live on a flight path to the Pittsburgh Internation Airport which is about 3 miles away, we see planes and helo's all the time). We ran out into the street to get a better view and at the same time it came out from the trees it was behind at a fairly rapid (but still within normal aircraft flight characteristics) speed. The craft seemed to be at about 2,000 feet but it is hard to estimate distances at night. All the while no sound was heard until it was directly above us. It slowed and paused in mid-air for a second and emitted a real low but audible rumble which seemed to come on instantaneous, as if someone said "OK, turn on the sound". Most jets, civilian and military are pretty loud at this height when they are directly above you. Anyway all of us agreed it was strange but pretty much agreed that it was somekind of military aircraft. We could see a faint outline of an elongated, acute triangle with rounded edges but it was very faint the only wreason I think we saw it was because the underside reflected no light and the backround was brighter due to the clouds. Had this been a clear night I doubt we would have detected an outline. Anyway, has anyone else had any sightings of unusual nature in this area recently? If so let me know. A possible UFO flap may be begining in the Escondido, California area. My sister has sighted the same UFO three times in the last 2 weeks. It appears as an orange light at first and closer up as a triangle shaped craft with lights on the corners. She saw it very close up and stated there was no sound... =========================================================================== BBS: Stairway to Heaven BBS Date: 06-12-94 (00:56) Number: 12 From: JBOUCHARD@DELPHI.COM Refer#: NONE To: ALL Recvd: NO Subj: Indiana Sighting - early Conf: (579) AltUFORepo ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Indiana Sighting - early 70s My daughter and I saw a triangular-shaped craft fly very low over our yard. It had rounded corners and lights in the corners and though it just skimmed the trees it made no engine sound - only a "whoooosh"-like noise. It was not flying fast and there were one or two others in the area at the same time but not as close. It almost seemed as if they were surveying the area. There were newspaper reports soon after that confirmed our sighting but we never reported it. Is this a common shape??? [END] "Is this a common shape???" I think the answer to this question is becoming increasingly obvious. There are many similar reports to the above. The Indiana sighting from the early 1970's is almost identical to the craft you describe and implies that such craft have been around for some 20 years, however, there are reports of triangular shaped craft which go back to the early 1940's, at least. The precise pencil-beam light is particularly interesting. This is a characteristic reported in the Belgian sightings from 1989: "Starting early Dec 89 the BAF has been contacted on several occasions by eyewitnesses who observed strange phenomena in the Belgian airspace. On some occasions they described the phenomena as a triangle-shaped platform up to 200 feet wide with 3 downward beaming projectors, hovering at +- 100 m above...On the first occasion the F16 arrived +- 1 hour after the visual detection. Nothing was observed. On the second occasion, pilots could identify a laser-beam projector on the ground." There is a picture file in .GIF format which is available from BBS's and ftp sites and is a photograph taken in 1990 (by a policeman, I believe) in Belgium. It is generally entitled BELGUFO.GIF and shows a triangular shaped craft with rounded corners. The craft has one light at each corner and a central light. "...a triangle shaped craft with lights on the corners." "...a triangular-shaped craft...It had rounded corners and lights in the corners..." "... an elongated, acute triangle with rounded edges... which had 3 lights on it in a triangular formation and a red "beacon" light underneath." "...a triangular shaped craft with rounded corners. The craft has one light at each corner and a central light." It's just _too_ much of a co-incidence, isn't it.
