Yes, Will Truman is a lawyer and he does it well too as he'd tell ya. Immediately after law school, the man joins a prestigious law firm called Gadman & Denofreyo. And even though he's on the way to a partnership, the man jumps bail after two years to start his own law practice. The justice-preaching do-gooder that he is, Will Truman sets out to help the poor, the needy and the helpless - and possibly more than a few lil old ladies who succumbed to his suave charm. But as soon as he lands his wealthiest client, Harlin Polk, Will starts to neglect his other clients as he concentrates all his attention to the cowboy oil baron. When I'm trying to close a multimillion-dollar deal, I can't be fielding calls from a woman who wants to sue Entenmanns because she gained 6 pounds on their fat-free coffee cake. But soon that gets him into trouble as Harlin also up and decides that he should also get a bigger, more high-profile law firm to handle his expanding business. this of course drives Will into a panic as he realizes that he has lost all his clients. It isn't long before he has to close down his business which drives him into a depression as he contemplates poverty - and the idea of not being able to wear a suit to work. But as he represents Grace in suing one of her clients, he manaes to attract the attention of the hot-shot lawyer on the other team. Ben Doucette of Doucette and Stein sees some potential in Will and decides to hire him.
