Easy ways to help an animal rescue

1) Look around your house for any items you don't need anymore that our rescue could use, such as collars. leashes, food, water bowls, dog houses, dog runs, and donate them.

2) Look for all the above items at garage sales, flee markets, and auctions and if reasonably priced and you can afford them, get them and donate them to our rescue.

3) Tell your family and friends about our rescue and ask if they may have items they would be willing to donate to help save lives.

4) Talk to area merchants in your area and ask if you could put out a donation container to help raise the funds needed to care for rescued animals.

5) Volunteer what time you can on the weekends to help take care of the animals during pet adoptions.

6) Make, buy, or ask for donated items that could be sold at an auction to help raise the money needed to help save lives.

7) Volunteer to foster one of our rescue animals.

8) Volunteer to help provide care for the animals at our rescue shelter during the week.

9) Check where you work to see if they have programs where they donate money to nonprofit organizations or one where their employees do volunteer work for them. Wall Mart has one, maybe others do too.

10) Enter contests to win pet items and donate them to our rescue.

11) Tell everyone you know about the wonderful animals available through our rescue.

12) Hold a community dog wash and charge $5.00 to bath people's pets. This can be set up locally and is a lot of fun in the summer. Merchants will agree to let you hold it at their business because while you are bathing the animal they can shop. Helps their business and raises money for rescue.  You can get volunteers by asking friends, relatives, local organizations. You can pass out literature about the dog wash, and at the same time ask for donations.

13) Save aluminum cans
and donate the money you get for them to our rescue.  Every little bit helps!

14) Hold a Garage sale in your community and donate the money to our rescue. If you do some advertisement beforehand people will donate items for the sale. Be sure to ask family members, friends, neighbors, and area merchants for donated items.

15) Hold a bake sale. Many merchants will allow you to set up a table in front of their business and the money will save lives.

16) Check in your community and see if anyone in your area has experience in writing grants. Ask if they would be willing to help our rescue group write out an application for a grant.

17) Don't buy items from pet stores that sell animals. Your money is helping these places stay in business and helps them buy animals from the brokers who buy animals from puppy mills.

18) Write letters to local, state, and national government asking them to outlaw puppy mills and stop allowing them to torture animals.

19) Help educate your friends, children, and family members about responsible pet ownership. Be sure they know what a forever home is and help them learn how to care for their pets.
