If Hip Hop Was A Woman – pt. 1
I said

If hip hop was a woman
BRUTHA”Z WOULD BE LINED UP BY THE CLUB TO DANCE WITH HER

If hip hop was a woman
Bruthaz would do that dance do that dance
Til’ that dance was choreographed by her
If hip hop was a woman
Yall niggaz would call her my Mother
Winos would sing bout how she does it like no other
She freaked my girl, my friend and my half-brother
Why hip hop got so damned pregnant she gave birth to spoken word
And that word became hip
And that hip hopped till hip hop transformed and became reborn
Claiming converts from canaan to Babylon

If hip hop was a woman
She would’ve been known as the shorty who snatched KRS-1
She’d be known as the NOTORIOUS M.A.M.A. packin 4s instead o’ TU
Shakur-in her “Entrancing Voodou” in subliminal beats that hit the streets so
hard, thugs spill forties in homage
To her…

If hip hop was a woman
I swear she’d look like lauryn hill and lil kim
If hip hop was a woman
She’d be wrappin the arms of talib, hi-tek, common, and eminem
Folk would see me walkin with her down the street
In the subways, in the park double datin w/ Jill Scott After Dark
And dancing waist t’waist breath t’breath till death cried for some love
And
Hip hop
Bein the woman that she is
Would give it some…

If hip hop was a woman
She would start a new click or regimen
Create a phat beat for the song “it’s rainin men” and have
Gentlemen, ruffnecks, reverends and Klansmen
Clappin and triple steppin’
Shoutin and reppin ethnicity, nationality, cultural and spiritual diversity
Shooot.

If hip hop was a woman
Dentists would quit their profession
Just to have one cavity
Whilst america’s mia’s would cry to be brought into captivity
Cuz
HIP HOP

Is that sweet
That captivatin
That tough
Got folk salivatin
Can’t have enuff

Man…
I calculate

That

If Hip hop was a woman

I wouldn’t be here waitin
For a soulmate
