" The Man

I can’t begin to understand the community
in which I live

A place were people blame the Man for all their woes

All I know it wasn’t the Man who made you throw
your garbage out the window!!!

I guess we can blame the Man when
you piss in the elevator
The same elevator that your
mother and grandmother ride

Or maybe it’s the Man’s fault that
you lost your virginity at the age of 14 and
now you have 3 seeds before you can legally
drink in New York State
and your mother their grandmother is forced to raise
another generation while you go to every club and party in
the tri-state
Now your kids consider grandma mommy and mommy an
intimate stranger

Could it be the Man that made you consider the Life of
You’re brother as worthless so it would be easy to
shoot them for no purpose or
sell them the same poison that turned your pops into
a wife beating junkie and turned your
moms into a battered single mother left
with scars that go deeper than slavery

But of course I forgot this is all the Man’s doing
He’s the cause of all this self-destructive behavior
WAKE UP!!!!!

All we’re doing is traveling without moving
And until we stop trying to lay blame on other
people that’s all we’re ever going to do until
we vanish off the face of the earth like so many
other peoples that once inhabited this land

Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream
If he were alive now he would be awakening to a nightmare

Man or no Man YOU decide how you want to live
Because eventually only the righteous will
inherent the earth

Now go and chew on that like so many soft
packs of now-laters
