Principal's Distinguished Honor Roll
Students can qualify for the Principal's Distinguished Honor Roll each semester by earning a 3.8 academic grade point average in UC's "a-f" required courses determined by semester grades.

Principal's Honor Roll
Students can qualify for the Principal's Honor Roll by earning a 3.5 District or academic grade point average at each semester.

Distinguished Dons
The objective of their program is that these young men and women should be "well-rounded students who best represent the ideals of the Santa Barbara High School and are role models for he school community. This honor is based on overall scholarship and individual department performance, Service to school and community, Citizenship in school and community, Leadership in school and community, and Activities in school and community.

California Scholarship Federation (CSF)
The California Scholarship Federation promotes high standards of scholarship and citizenship. A student must apply for CSF membership each semester that he/she qualifies. Qualification is based on the previous semester's grades in specific courses. (A high GPA in college preparatory courses does not automatically admit or enroll the student.) Students who qualify for CSF must fill out an application and submit it to the Principal's Office along with the $2.50 membership fee each qualifying semester. For the "Life Member" or "Seal Bearer" status accorded to graduating seniors, students must qualify a minimum of four out of six semesters in grades 10, 11, 12, at least one of which must be in the senior year.

National Honor Society
Membership is open to all students who have attended SBHS for at least one semester and who have a district grade point average of 3.5. Student who meet the scholastic require are then evaluated by the faculty committee on the basis of leadership, service, and character. There is a $2.50 fee for membership, which can be paid in the Principal's Office.
