Palazzo Visconti

First in residence at the palazzo is, of course, Viscount Salvador. While all his preparations clearly show that he's intending to live a merry life in his new position, he's also keenly aware that it'll be taken from him if he doesn't also uphold his duties.

Ludovico was a steward at Mondavi Palace, overseeing a certain section of guest rooms. Prince Mondavi sent him along with Salvador to see to the setup and provisioning of the household. If he does his job well, Ludovico can remain in Monfalcone as majordomo of the palazzo. He's well and thoroughly corrupt, in a petty sort of way, accepting bribes and kickbacks with abandon - but never being so foolish as to steal from his employers or work against their interests.

Mario ran a genne house in Profeta Chiesa before accepting an offer to relocate himself and all his girls to Monfalcone. The girls are Salvador's primary household staff now. While no longer required to turn daily rounds of tricks to earn their keep, they are expected to be "hospitable" to any visitors who aren't outright mean or dangerous. Mario is also Maria Aldabella Giacinta Rosalba, an over-the-top cross-dressed persona he developed in Profeta Chiesa partly for a business gimmick and partly because he likes dresses. He has an above-average understanding of how dress, presentation and drama can influence people.

Carmine is 23 and has been a Mondavi soldier since he was 15. He was a lieutenant in the prince's guards when he was tapped to lead an honor guard back to Monfalcone with Salvador. He has an understated, quiet demeanor. He will remain in Monfalcone as the viscount's captain of the guard and will train up local recruits to fill out their numbers.

Ercole is one of Mondavi's Lord's Hands. Mondavi picked him because he noted that the viscount liked flipping and playing with his knives. Ercole likes knives, too, although in an entirely less wholesome fashion. He's a fine fencer and, when the group was in Montaigne, took entirely too much amusement in tagging insolent courtiers in the face, scarring their good looks. He is officially in Monfalcone to ensure that there are no challenges to the prince's appointment, but Ercole and Salvador both recognize he's there equally to watch Salvador and report back to Mondavi.
