Fairy Wings Materials: Coat hangers, Tulle-approx 1yd per child, Glue, Glitter and Sequins Needle, Thread, Pliers, Duct tape, Ribbon
Bend 2 coat hangers into the desired shape of a wing. Dividing the tulle in half, take each piece and wrap it around one coat hanger, gathering it together at the top of the hanger (the part that hangs the hanger in the closet). Tie with ribbon. Straighten out the top hooked part and duct tape the two of them together--they are now the middle of the wings. Cover duct tape with exsess tulle. Tie two good size pieces of ribbon to the middle section you just created. These will be the straps that the child's arms will go through. Decorate as you please with glitter sequins and glue.

Glitzy Gloves Materials: White stretchy winter gloves (at Wal-Mart $0.88), Tulip paint - 1 gold glitter, 1 pink or red Paintbrush, Faceted craft jewels, Small amount of plastic wrap
How To Make It 1. Wash and dry gloves without fabric softener. 2. Put a small piece of plastic wrap into each fingertip and at the base of each ring finger to prevent paint from soaking through. 3. Squirt pink or red paint onto palette. With brush, paint on fingernails. Tip: Make sure you paint the thumbnail on the side of the thumb hole. 4. Using gold glitter paint, squirt out an M&M-sized bead onto the base of each ring finger. Place jewel gently into the center of the bead until gold is seen around the edges. Squirt out a line of gold paint on each side of the jewel to make it look like a ring. 5. Wait 24 hours before wearing and 72 hours before washing.

Fairy Costume This is an easy costume for those who can't sew. Materials: Silk leaves and flowers, Store-bought slip, Thread that coordinates with the florals, Needle Hot glue and glue gun, Store bought wings (butterfly type...not angel wings! Or make your own) Floral vine, Floral tape
1. Get a poofy slip that easily slips over your child's head. 2. Go to the craft store and pick out a bunch of silk flowers and leaves, which coordinate in color. 3. Next tack the flowers to the bodice of the slip using a couple of easy hand straight stitches, remember that this will make the slip lose elasticity, so make sure it is somewhat roomy. 4. Hot glue the leaves to the skirt of the slip. You may stitch these as well but it will take you forever and lost leaves are quickly and easily replaced with a bit of glue! 5. The straps of the slips should be covered with smaller flowers or leaves as well. 6. A headband can easily be made using a floral "vine" with floral tape to secure it. Just wrap it around the head, cut it at a comfortable length and wrap floral tape here and there to secure it or make the fairy Halo described above earlier. 7. Add Fairy wings. You can change this to fit your likes easily. Use sunflowers and brighter green leaves for a summer fairy, or poinsettias and holly for a winter fairy. For an older "fairy" how about grape vines and lightweight plastic grapes. Oh and if you're really, really afraid of needles, you can hot glue the flowers too...it's also a lot faster if you're in a hurry! If a less poofy slip is used, it would be easier to cover, take less leaves and be more economical!
