May 26 - Chapter Family Airborne Picnic at Thumb Butte Park, Prescott, Arizona (Saturday)
This is a family affair. Bring the wife and kids and enjoy the day at the foot of beautiful Thumb Butte at the State Park. It will be a simple but friendly affair, with hamburgers, hotdogs, and beans. Cool non-alcoholic sodas will be available. Enjoy the warm friendship of your comrades and their families, as well as the breathtaking scenery at the forested foot of historic Thumb Butte. Donation for the picnic will be $5 for adults, $2.50 for kids under 12. Excess proceeds will be used for expenses for our very active Color Guard, commanded by Chuck Olson.

August 8-11 - 82nd Airborne Division Association National Convention, 2001, to be held at Charleston, South Carolina, sponsored by the Low Country Chapter. This will be our 55th Anniversary Convention. The Convention will be held at the Radisson Hotel, 170 Lockwood Drive, Charleston, S.C. 29403. Reservations: (843) 723-3000. August 18 - National Airborne Day, to be held at Luke AFB, in Phoenix. This celebration is dedicated to honoring our Native American Airborne Veterans. It will be sponsored by the Arizona Airborne Association.
September 8 - Annual Anniversary Dinner - Location to be announced. This is an annual affair, of course, for the family. Last year it was held at Pete's Family Restaurant, in Prescott, and was enjoyed by all. Great food, great company, great cause. We are working to make this years event even better. This Dinner will replace the regular Chapter meeting of September 12.
