Wonderland Paul Hyde -- One of my most favourite songs. I asked Paul Hyde about this song when I had the opportunity to meet him. I figured it was a song about the United States, much like America is Sexy - it talks about a nice lovely place where many things are great, but then throws in some barbs and strangeness - everything isn't perfect. Paul gave me a much more detailed description though. He was in Maui doing work at Bob Rock's studio, staying in a place with his wife and a couple friends. He only had the verses written - the parts with the nice walks past fountains and so on, and he had to come up with the chorus. Someone in the house continually watched shows like Rikki Lake and that's where he came up with the themes for the chorus. -- And they walked past the fountains Through the gardens, up the mountians Across the sand, hand in hand In wonderland By the river, he turned and kissed her Cause he could not, could not resist her In the sunshine You'll be mine all mine In wonderland Chorus: In wonderland Kids have guns Spaceships come from alien suns Everybody's high but they're sinking Loonies rant on TV shows Boyfriends girlfriends come to blows The ad man knows exactly what you're thinking In wonderland And they lay down In the tall grass Telling stories Watching clouds pass Captivated, infatuated In wonderland In wonderland Kids have guns Spaceships come from alien suns Everybody's high but they're sinking Loonies rant on TV shows Boyfriends girlfriends come to blows The ad man knows exactly what you're thinking In wonderland
