Tom was wanting to hear from any one who had any fun/stupid things to do with a scanner. If you have any suggestions you can e-mail them to us, to utilise on our page.
Here's one, thanks Simon for sending
it in: "I have a great one for people to play around
with, it's called harmonics and is one that amateurs will
be well aware of. If you have a transmitter you can
actually hear your self on multiples of the frequency you
transmit on!
Try for example if you have a UHF CB channel 24 is
477.000 MHz, tune your scanner into twice that frequency
being 954 MHz and you will hear yourself!
Try 27 MHz CB and lets pick channel 4 27.005 MHz and this
time multiply it by 3 to make 81.015 MHz and again you
will hear yourself....
I'll kick this off with a really "stupid" thing to do with your scanner. Have you an electric garage door? If so you can listen to the tone that your remote uses. You can find what frequency to listen to by looking on the back of the remote. Or by scanning around the 300MHz mark. My system uses 303MHz.
I have had many e-mails from people wanting a list of police stations that have moved frequencies, since the new districts were introduced. If you are able to help please e-mail us.
We have recieved a few e-mails reguarding the new districts. This page will be updated very soon!
The ABC has been heard on the following frequencies at sporting events that they attend: 452.625, 473.975, 474.575, 475.175, 479.825, 479.975, 490.625, 490.775, 496.475, 496.770.
It has also been suggested to me that you should find the Radio Technologies frequencies for your local area, as they have contracts with most large companies.
