20th June 2005 NSW Dept of Primary Industries/Fisheries announced a New Scuba Diving Fee
The above proposals are not going to help the GNS, only protection from all types of fishing within the already declared "Habitats Critical to the Survival of the Grey Nurse Shark", will, especially drop/set-line fishing for Wobbygong Shark another threatened species badly needing protection.
3rd June 2005 NSW Dept of Primary Industries/Fisheries announced a New Breeding Program for Grey Nurse Sharks
Why have several key discussion papers and reports commissioned by the NSW Minister of Fisheries, not been made public?
`Because one such report by internationally renowned shark authority Dr John Stevens of the CSIRO, recommended that a 1,500 metre sanctuary zone must be declared around all "Habitats Critical to the Survival of the Grey Nurse Shark".
What Can You Do??
Get Vocal, Get Active and Get Cracking!!!
Write to the NSW Premier, Fisheries Minister, via a downloadable word document., or view it online, copy & paste into your word processor software.
Here is a link to the NSW Parliament so you look up the Premier & others address details, including your local Member.
Sent them all a letter!!.
We have had good advise (from a Politician) that snail mail letters are more valuable and effective to send, than email, due to past email campaigns by some groups.
