One fine day
I opened my eyes
truely looked at the way of the world
which we only get one of
what it truely is
without the rose tinted glasses.
One fine day
the picture is far from perfect.
War, death on enemy and allied sides
from all parts of the globe you would be suprised.
Why not call a truce and start from scratch
and decide on working together, not apart.
One fine day
Bullies and thugs in our own back yard.
Young and old are doing it, more young of late.
Wrecking the lives of many of our peers.
For what? Not much.
Justice it doesn't seem to be enough.
One fine day
school children with nothing better to do
hassling those who they know can't protect themselves
for the hurtful words and the humilating antics.
How I find myself asking can we better protect.
They don't deserve that, no one does.
One fine day
flipping the channels while the commericals screen
many a commerical asking for donations
to help starving children, help countries rebuild.
I truely wonder how many people do something
and how many ignore.
One fine day
What should I do
decide to make a difference somehow.
Or stick back on my nice rose tainted glasses
to hide from the truth I know to be.
Just hope for the best, that the good times shall be soon.
