Hermetic Kabbalah is open to many different path's, It strive's to incorporate the female divine as well as the male. At first it is a good fit since Kabbalah include's both M/F divine image's, but leave's one to question the sanity of being a hermaphrodite which has problem's all it's own.
I'm not saying that Kabbalah is in any way wrong, religion is a person's personal choice. But I do know what it is like to be born with the characteristic's of both M/F and there are day's that I wish I was never born. Imagine being born and the doctor tell's your parent's that their child has ambiguous sexual organ's and he give's them option's of which they do not understand and they say leave the child as it is.
Then come's puberty and realizing that you are not like the other's, You are different and people know and sense it, so they stay away from you and jeer you as a freak of nature. As you get older you notice big and small change's to your body as It start's to fill out. You go Into a store and the cashier say's "Can I help you sir??" But when you speak, They apologize and call you ma'am. You end up working for yourself because most don't want to hire a person who fit's neither gender and you lose customer's because they to have a biased approach to you and treat you as if you are beneath them. I may not understand all of the Kabbalah, but I do know firsthand what it is like to be an androgynous person who doesn't pass for any gender and yet possesses the qualities of both. I sometime's bless and yet curse the day I was born, I know that life in any form goes on and everyday I am grateful for Sherry and you all for accepting me the way I am :-).
Oh well the Tooth Fairy can work overtime if need be, I will have to brush up on
Merkavah Kabbalah. First parent's tend to let their children be altered to bit the
binary, consequences, fate, whatever one may call it, surgery to one's genitals to
fit A or B doesn't make it right. Your stand is appreciative, and you
tend to make my brain think.
There are many children whose parents have the surgeons "change", them at birth and sadly when they reach puberty, they feel as if they were "assigned" the wrong gender. While in the womb of it's mother the chromosomes determine the gender of a child. One in every 1000-1500 births does not happen that way.
I have a good friend of mine who was born female with CAH (Congenital Adrenal
Hyperplasia) and although female at birth her body over produced the male
hormone testosterone, The result?? A female with a beard. She went through a
terrible childhood from her parents disowning her to being raped to no-one
accepting her. Well when she got older she stopped the shaving and now
passes as male. She got her degree and went to work as a librarian and just last
year her co-worker was raped and murdered, They pointed the finger at my friend
and said that "he" raped and killed her. My friend had to come out as a person
who was born female with CAH and was living as a man. Well, needless to say
she was cleared of all charges but her life had been exposed and the turmoil of
being shown as a IS person brought many problems to her.
Society feels that you are either M/F and most IS (Intersexed) people tend to stay to ourselves and let people assume what they want, as it pertains to gender. My friend Is now severely depressed and has contemplated suicide. It's hard enough at certain times to live each day with it's own problems. People's phenotype and their chromosomes as well as their genitals don't always fit the M/F binary.
Society has its own realms and when you don't fit they feel the need to "make" you
fit. Cheryl Chase started ISNA and its goal is to stop surgeons from making a
child fit the binary. Rather, allow them to grow up and decide for themselves if
they want to be M/F or just IS (Intersexed). It's all very simple and yet
complicated. I feel that it is best to just love the child and let it in time choose a
gender or stay in the middle. People should always have a choice. I have friends
who were altered at birth, and they have their share of stories that can really tug
at your heart strings.
