"And you should know that Koenma's really unhappy today. He and George--the blue ogre--were in the records room this morning, and..."
Yusuke turned out Botan's chatter. She'd brought him to Spirit World for some kind of meeting with Koenma, but she was taking the long route to his office so she could warn Yusuke about how mad he was.
As they walked past a supply closet, someone reached out and dragged Yusuke inside.
"Hey! What's the--"
"Shut up, detective."
"Hiei? What the hell are you doing?"
"I said, 'shut up,'" Hiei growled. "We're not here to talk."
In the space of a breath, he had Yusuke on his back and naked from the waist down.
"Geez, haven't seen each other in two months, and not even a kiss hello," Yusuke grumbled good-naturedly as he pulled his jeans back on. "Nope, just ten minutes of wham-bam-hn, same as always."
The next time Yusuke looked, the demon was gone. Everyone else had already arrived when he finally made it to Koenma's office, and Botan was in a tizzy. A teenage Koenma glared at him, though the pacifier ruined the effect.
"Yusuke, where in the world were you?" Botan asked. "One minute, you were behind me, and the next, you'd vanished."
"Sorry. Got a little side-tracked."
"Only you could get side-tracked walking down a plain hallway," Koenma muttered. "Now can we get started?"
Hiei leaned against the wall and crossed his arms. "Wake me when it's over."
Yusuke was lost during most of Koenma's speech, but he knew Kurama would explain the important parts when he needed it.
He paused by the supply closet on his way out. Another spot to add to his list of places Hiei had jumped him. The sex was great, a good way to work off tension, but he wondered sometimes if that was all it would ever be.
"Yusuke, are you coming?" Botan called impatiently. Everyone else was with her.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm coming." He gave one last look at the door. Live for the moment, right? He could do that.
Then Hiei was in front of him again, pressing a chaste, fleeting kiss to the corner of his mouth. "Hello."
Luckily, some moments were much better than others.
