Engine

Now if you are a kakkinen or a Schumacher, this will be free becasue major manufacturers will be down on their knees begging you to take theirs. Other teams with lesser drivers have to fork up RM1.2 for each engine. Servicing and supply costs between RM30m and RM50m. Each engine goes about 725km before it is rebuilt.

Steering Wheel

Forget the steering of your proton; this one comes designed with paddles for changing up and down the gears. hand clutch, digital readouts and warning lights. All for RM46,000.

Gearbox

Specially designed to specifications, with an outer casing made of magnesium and a choice of six or seven speed. Cost? RM375,000

Driveshaft

Just a cool RM48,000 for one, and good for a one time use only.

Brake Discs and calipers

The brake discs are made of carbon while the calipers are made of berylium. Four discs will set you back a whalloping RM30,000 while four calipers delete your bank balance by another RM40,000. And what you know, these babies are useless just after one day of use.

Exhaust

Has to be specifically designed to meet the needs of each car. Building it costs RM19,000.

Nose and front wings

The experts say this is one of the most important parts of the car when you get involved in a head-on crash. It only cost RM22,000.

Rear Wing

Crafted from carbonfibre, and designed to be fully adjustable for low or high-speed circuits. Each costs RM43,750.

Title sponsor

They get to be billed as part of the team, and their logos are always in the most prominent positions. The name could be had for RM125m.

Subsidiary Sponsor

If you get a spot on the sides, near the cockpit, this will empty your wallet by another RM110m. Well worth the price, considering cameras always picks up brand name when they go for close ups of the driver

Helmet

Free if sponsored. Otherwise helmets designed to mould skull of individual drivers could set you back by RM6,300. Sticker sponsorship could help rake in about RM6m

Overalls

Fire proof so that drivers don't become human touches in accident. Each costs RM6,000 and a driver goes through at least six a year.

Paint work

To accomodate different advertisers and sponsors, each car is stripped and repainted after each race. The process costs between RM12,5000 and Rm15,000.
