We are from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A lot of people confuse our location with Canada. Hmmmm, I still don't understand that. Here is a picture of Michigan. The Upper Peninsula is the top part--my mom put a slash through the lower peninsula so that you will know we are not from there.

We are typically known as "yoopers". We have a distinct accent, which alot of people confuse with Canadians. "YA 'EH!"

There aren't too many well known places here, unless you are familiar with the National Ski Hall of Fame, Northern Michigan University, or "Da Yoopers Tourist Trap".

But all in all, it is a really nice place to grow up and I think I will enjoy living here; however, I hear we have about 9 month of winter, and only 3 months of summer?! Can this be true? I'll find out for myself soon.
Hey, have you ever heard of a pasty? I only have 4 teeth right now, but I've seen my mom and dad eating them and they look pretty good! It's beef, carrots, turnip, potatoes, and onions all wrapped in a pie crust. If you click on the word pasty you can find out what it is, and check out all kinds of other places here in the U.P. to visit. You can even order pasties through the mail!!!!! You've got to try one! Or try one of the "Hilltop Restaurant's" famous sweet rolls, they are bigger than my head! Mom says they are GREAT!
