12. I did not come to know him, but Prof. Beyer told me he was the anthropologist who filed his teeth and lived with the Manobo of Agusan. He is a major contributor to Philippine studies and should merit attention some day. Among this significant writings are The Manobos of Mindanao (1931) and The Negritos of the Philippines (Wien, F. Berger, 1964).
