The letter of Paul to the

COLOSSIANS

Grace to you and peace from God.

We thank God that you have heard the word of truth, the gospel, which brings hope laid up for you in heaven. I pray that God will fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. To lead a life worthy of the Lord. To bear fruit in every good work.

Jesus is the image of the invisible God. He is the head of the church. In him all things hold together. He reconciles all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace.

You were once hostile in mind, doing evil deeds. Now you are reconciled to God; holy enough to be presented to God, provided you continue in the faith, in the gospel.

I have been called to make known the word of God in full. As you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, it is my ministry to see that you become mature in Christ; rooted and built up in the faith.

You will come across philosophy and human reasoning against the gospel. They will tell you it is ridiculous to believe that Jesus Christ and His resurrection can make you acceptable to God. They will tell you that you can only please God by being religious. They wil claim that God had told them in visions that you cannot eat certain food, you must dress in a certain manner, pray a certain number of times a day, and practice self-abasement by not taking food, not even swallowing your own saliva, during certain time of the year.

I want you to know that God is please with us because we have been raised with Christ. That mean you have to be dead to evil desires and passions: fornication, impurity, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

God's chosen people are holy, compassionate, kind, humble, meek and patient. So bear the hurt inflicted upon you and forgive. Above all work for harmony through love. Praise and give thanks to God all the time.

Begin with your family and your work place. Let your speech be always gracious, seasoned with salt.

Grace be with you.
