Matthew 7: 13-14
How to have a rich life.

How to be wealthy is one of the hottest topic in our world today. Seminars after seminars are being organised to give an insight to make the big buck. Every "successful" chief executive officer will try to teach you the secret for a big fee. And every hungry aspiring graduate will pay and fight for a seat to feed on the crumbs thrown at them. Yet tomorrow another will come along to tell you of a better way to succeed.

Many Christians are also caught up in this madness, to tread the career path. It is important to make it by the age of forty, after that your window of opportunity is gone. So they would make any sacrifices needed. Many are postponing marriage or a family in pursue of this dream.

People of God, you are anxious and troubled about many things, when only one thing is needed. Sit at the Lord's feet and listen (Luke 10:38-42). Let this not be taken away from you.

The Lord will ask you to choose the narrow gate (Matt 7: 13-14). He will tell you about integrity, principles, honesty, kindness, discipline, self-control, fairness, etc.

He will warn you not to choose the wide gate, the gate with no limits. Everything goes. Conniving, cheat, half-truths, backstabbing, office politics, double-talk, conceit, ego, the end justifies the means, etc. He will teach you to seize opportunity, but not at the expense of others.

The starting is critical for it will determine the end. If you sow thorns you will get thorns. It is not how much more money you have; it is how rich your life is. In the introduction to the article "The most powerful 25 people in business" in Fortune 150 (3), Geoffry Colvin wrote:

That's another thing about power: Nothing's forever. A few of the powerful business people I've dealt with are now in prison, and a bunch more may be headed there.
