ADVENT
Advent celebrates the coming of Christ the Messiah. From
Latin it means “the coming”. It is the period preceding Christmas; starting
from the Sunday nearest to November 30 (the feast day of Saint Andrew the
Apostle) and last for four Sundays.
Historically it was meant to be a time of spiritual reflection and anticipation with joy, counting the days to Christmas
