Friday Night is Music Night Continued…

Review Two: Hayley

Most of you know my views on Scott – he’s fantastic, anything he does is magical, I worship the ground he walks on, ROCK ON SCOTT…the usual over the top fan stuff…so let’s get all that out of the way at the beginning…so...

SCOTT RULES, I LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF THE SHOW, I WANT TO SEE/LISTEN TO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN!!
Great! Now that’s done, on with the show...*clears her throat* right….

Little Introduction Thing.

The day this was broadcast I had just come home from a week in Aberglaslyn, Wales, where I was on an adventure week suffering from some sort of illness, so all I wanted to do was relax to some lovely music…So plain and simply I did.  I liked all of the songs however I liked some more than others but that’s just natural I guess.

Brigadoon.

I really do like this song but I’m prone to forgetting how the song goes but I know it’s good! I listen to practically everyday so it must be good. One of my favourite parts is the dialogue in the middle of the song. I really liked Scott’s American accent he was very convincing which proves he’s a great actor, I keep listening to that bit over and over again because it is so good! If I could choose one moment from the show that I was able to see it probably would have been that.

Ae Fond Kiss.

Out of the whole show this song was the one I least liked. That doesn’t mean I didn’t like it because I did like it very much! The lyrics are superb and Scott sang really well and really kept the mood of the song. But I got a bit more enjoyment from the other songs than I did from this song. But like I said I do like the song.

Bring Him Home.

*Stops herself from going OTT* We all thought this was some sort of sign because “Bring Him Home” was rather more recent than the other songs being from Les Miserables and all. Out of all the songs the fan club would of like to hear Scott sing, “Bring Him Home” was probably the one that we most wanted to hear him do. And especially for me after hearing him sing “One Day More” (and loved it!) I really wanted to hear him to do “Bring Him Home”. Scott sang this song just how I imagined it – he is without a doubt THE perfect Valjean!

My Kind Of Girl.

This song is brilliant, nice and cheerful! I knew Scott was very good at singing jazzy up-beat songs and he certainly proved himself in this version of the UK winning Eurovision song, which tells you about what his perfect kind of girl is. However girls, I don’t know if that is actually Scott’s interpretation of his perfect kind of girl or not so don’t get too excited, not naming any names…

I’ve Never Been In Love Before/I’ll Know – Midi Playing Now

This is my above all favourite it’s absolutely brilliant, the perfect song to end a great show. Just like Rose my favourite bit was “But this is wine, its all too strange and strong, I'm full of foolish song..” I don’t know how to explain it with out sounding obvious but Scott seemed so much in control of that line and made it really exciting. My other favourite bit from that song was the conclusion – this is where we hear Scott in operatic mode, Scott gives the end such a powerful ending that sends shivers down my spine, absolutely brilliant!

A little query.

I started a fan club discussion a few months back on how to pronounce Scott’s last name “Davies”. I don’t know if it’s pronounced “Davis” or “Davees”. The Presenter of “Friday Night Is Music Night” didn’t help us as he pronounced it both ways!
So Scott….how do you pronounce your last name? J
