Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Theatre Company present Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom Of The Opera at Edinburgh’s Playhouse Theatre from September 18th 1999 to December 18th 1999.

Winner of 20 major theatre awards The Phantom Of The Opera became the most successful show to perform in Scotland. Having opened at the Edinburgh Playhouse in 1994, the show took £11 million and was seen by over half a million people during it’s nine month run.

Based on the original Gaston Leroux novel 'Le Fantome de l’Opera', published by Mills and Boon in 1911, this musical production is set in the great Paris Opera House. In the complex labyrinth of corridors and rooms below this awesome building lives the Phantom. This disfigured creature wields an intense power over those that work and perform there, in particular his beautiful and talented protégé, Christine.

Scottish-born Scott Davies stars as The Phantom. Having trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Scott has appeared in a number of musical productions including Cats, Carousel, Chess and Scottish Operas Carmen and Aida.

Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Charles Hart, The Phantom Of The Opera is directed by Harold Prince with musical staging and choreography from Gillian Lynne.

Scott Davies who hails from Glasgow will be present at the press call together with Joanne Pullen who shares the leading female role of Christine and Lucy Middleton who plays Meg Giry.
