Participation counts TWO TIMES
Daily quizzes counts TWO TIMES
Film write-up counts ONCE
Final composition counts TWO TIMES
Final Exam counts THREE TIMES
The highest grade in any category is a 4.0 (A)
When you add up all the grades as listed above, a 40.0
is the highest you can get.
Just move the decimal point once to the left,
and you'll have your GPA-type grade.
For example:
Student earns the following:
Participation 3.5 (x 2 = 7.0)
Quizzes 3.0 (x 2 = 6.0)
Film write-up 3.6 (x 1 = 3.6)
Composition 3.2 (x 2 = 6.4)
Final Exam 3.5 (x 3 = 10.5)
Total 33.5 = 3.35 = 3.4 = B+
My overall grading categories:
4.0 - 3.9 = A = 93-100
3.8 - 3.6 = A- = 90-93
3.2 - 3.5 = B+ = 87-89
2.9 - 3.1 = B = 84-86
2.6 - 2.8 = B- = 80-83
2.2 - 2.5 = C+ = 77-79
1.9 - 2.1 = C = 74-77
1.6 - 1.8 = C- = 70-73
1.2 - 1.5 = D+ = 67-69
1.1 - 1.0 = D = 65
